I also much appreciated the addition of a tool-less adjustment system to the backup irons as keeping the front sight adjustment tool around was kind of a pain in the ass from previous generations. Also, the demo rifle that was brought to Gun Fest perfectly showcased the much smaller size of the backup irons, easily fitting underneath an LPVO optic with some room to spare. First, the new sights are much lighter and compact compared to their earlier counterparts. There are a few observations I made from handling the sights in-person while at TFB Gun Fest. MBUS 3 Sights will be available in Black, Flat Dark Earth, Stealth Gray, and OD Green. The MBUS 3 Front Sight includes tool-less elevation adjustments and a dual width enhanced front sight similar to the MBUS Pro. The MBUS 3 sits at standard AR-height when deployed. Featuring the same spring-loaded technology as its predecessor, they can be deployed with an ambidextrous push-button.
Its aesthetics are derived from the MBUS Pro, but the MBUS 3 Front Sight is constructed of our impact-resistant polymer, making it lightweight and extremely durable. Significantly reduced in size from the MBUS, it sits at just 0.44” high when folded and 1.15” at its widest point. The next evolution in our MBUS (Magpul Back-Up Sight) line, the MBUS 3 incorporates the best features, strengths and value of our original MBUS and MBUS Pro Sights in a feature-packed back-up sight system. The new sights are sleeker, lighter, and come in at an aggressively competitive price. Magpul Industries came out swinging at TFB’s Gun Fest 2021 with some awesome new products and one of the first ones introduced to us during the new product showcase were the MBUS 3 next-gen polymer backup iron sights.
